October Update: Reference Checking, Consistency, and Feedback Improvements
Over the last few months, we have focused on making PaperCheck smoother and more helpful for your paper writing. This update improves how feedback appears on your pages, helps you keep your writing consistent, and gives mobile users a much better experience.
Page feedback out of beta
After months of testing and improvements, Page Feedback is now officially out of beta. It gives you grammar, spelling, and punctuation suggestions directly on your document pages. You can now filter by feedback type to focus on grammar, punctuation, or spelling, which makes editing more organised and efficient. The suggestions are faster, more accurate, and easier to review than before.

Reference checking
Citations can be tricky, especially when mixing different styles or sources. The new Reference Check helps you spot missing, mismatched, or inconsistent references in your paper. It detects broken in-text citations, unmatched bibliography entries, and style differences between sections.
Youโll also see inline highlights where references appear incomplete or incorrectly formatted, making it easier to fix them before submission. Whether you use APA, MLA, or another format, PaperCheck now ensures your references stay consistent and complete.

A fresh look on Mobile
We have completely redesigned Page Feedback for mobile. Suggestions now appear in a bottom sheet that keeps your text visible while you scroll. You can review grammar, punctuation, and spelling feedback without interrupting your reading flow. It feels much more natural when checking your thesis on the go.

Stay Consistent Across Your Document
Long papers often shift in style, tone, or formatting. The new Consistency Check helps you find and fix these differences by showing where words, terms, or capitalization vary across your document. For example, if you write "AI" in one section and "A.I." in another, you will see both and can make them match easily.

Gendering Feedback now shown on your pages
Inclusive language is an important part of academic writing. Gendering Feedback now appears directly on your document pages. It highlights areas that might not use inclusive wording and lets you view suggestions in full context. You can make adjustments immediately without switching to a separate view.

Clearer feedback summary emails
Feedback summary emails are now easier to read. Icons and color coding help you see at a glance how many grammar, punctuation, and style issues were found. You can also track your progress more easily between document checks.

Bug fixes and improvements
- Fixed an issue where PDFs did not open on the first page
- Corrected feedback language mismatches
- Improved layout of feedback card buttons
- Fixed problems with documents longer than 65 pages not processing correctly
Thanks for being part of this journey.
