PaperCheck Troubleshooting Guide

If PaperCheck is not behaving as expected, work through these problem classes in order.

Upload Issues

• Use a supported PDF or DOCX file.
• Remove unresolved tracked changes and resave the document.
• Check file size and connection stability.

Analysis Issues

• Confirm that document type, language, and citation style are set correctly.
• Refresh the page if the analysis appears stuck for unusually long.
• Verify whether the analysis or feature requires an unlocked state.

Result Issues

• If results look unexpected, review your input configuration first.
• For institution-specific requirements, add or refine Custom Checks.
• If the output is hard to interpret, go to Interpret Analysis Results.
